The Next Evolution

Over the past several months I have been hard at work rebuilding the infrastructure of not only our country, but our government as well.  I have faced many challenges both domestically and diplomatically due to the attitudes and actions of the previous administration.
The truth of the matter is, rewriting the constitution from scratch has become a monumental task that requires more powers than a democracy can provide me at this time.
So with that in mind I, Jeff Renner, President of South Maudlandia, will be executing my executive powers on this 2nd of May 2017, to declar that for the immediate future, South Maudlandia will become a Democratic Monarchy.
This will not be permanent, it is just to ensure that the new South Maudlandian Government is built upon a strong foundation.
I will be serving in the capacity of King for a period no more than 5 years with the option to step down following the first elections.
Elections will still be held as scheduled but they will now be for a Prime Minister who will serve 2 year terms as well as Council members who will serve 3 year terms.
When I have confidence that the elected Government is strong enough, I will step down as King, eliminating the role, and transferring all power to the elected government.
The nation of South Maudlandia cannot be built around one man or controlled by one group.
The lack of political parties in South Maudlandia would only lead to one party rule power vacuum and with the power/weapon of full democracy, eventual dictatorship, which is whole reason the previous administration was removed from power in first place.
The only way for South Maudlandia to experience the growth needed to expand our influence in the world a bi partisan government is required.
I will be drafting a new constitution in the very near future which will remain in effect until the elections, when the citizens will be allowed to permanently ratify it.
The next few months will be pivotal in the future of our nation.
But together we will overcome any challenges that stand in our path.

A New Era

Greetings my fellow South Maudlandians,
Exactly one month ago today I stood  before you and pledged to work tirelessly to right the wrongs of the previous administration.
I will be honest with you, I walked into a mess.
Our diplomatic standing in the micronational community was at an extreme low due to our part in the Pannonian War. The previous administration treated our nation as some side project to kill time.
He appointed his friends to government posts and failed to ratify any constitution or form any real governmental structure.
I've basically had to wipe the slate clean and rebuild the system from the ground up.
To signify our new beginning as a nation, I have ordered the South Maudlandia flag to be replaced with a more modern representation of our nation.

Much progress has been made this past month.
We have a seen a 27% increase in citizenship applications. Many from people whom have served in political posts for other nations, but have immigrated to help with the rebuilding process.
I am currently in the process of writing up a new temporary constitution that will be enacted very soon. It will remain in place until the 2018 elections when citizens will be given the the power to vote on what will be ratified.
On the diplomatic front, as I stated before, I have chosen to honor all of the previous administrations treaties. I have spoken with several leaders and will be proposing new treaties very soon.
With this in mind, I am proud to announce that South Maudlandia has joined the Intermicronational Alliance (IA) along with with the Kingdom of Adrina, Lipelistan, Empire of Sorority, Sree Gurusia, Kingdom of Fristehen, DeWaCo Estates, Daljam, Lorenzburg, Astres, Trislan and the Republic of Kallos.
I look forward to working with other world leaders as we move forward in this new era of micronationalism.
Liberland kicked open the door of public conscious, now it's up to us as a micronational community to carry the torch forward, right to the United Nations door.

A Message From President Jeff Renner

Greetings my fellow South Maudlandians.
One week ago we witnessed what will go down as the most important moment in our nations history since it's founding, when the government of former President Matthew Phillips was deposed in a military coup.
Many felt this move came out of nowhere, but truthfully it was a long time coming.
The previous administration engaged in aggressive actions that was destructive, not only to our nation, but the entire micro national community as a whole.
His illegal annexation of "Siga" aka Liberland led directly to the biggest war in micro national history.
The cost of the "Pannonian War" is still felt in every nation that was involved on both sides.
It did nothing to help any of us in our quests for international recognition as sovergn nations.
We will never be taken seriously with all this infighting amongst micro nations. Our voices will only be heard when we scream together.
With that in mind, I call on all leaders of the micro national community to begin to work together.
To achieve international recognition we need to form a coalition of micro nations that will represent the community as a whole.
A United Nations of micro nations if you will.
A group that will negotiate with the international community on behalf of all of us. Individually we are all to weak to make any waves but together we can and will literally change the world.
This past week has been an eventful one in geo politics.
Several leaders of micro nations have reached out to me to show thier support for us.
I would especially like to thank King Aman of The Kingdom of Adrina for reaching out to me almost immediately to lend his kingdoms support.
I look forward to working together with his administration for the benefit of both nations.
Over the last weeks I have reached out to several world leaders including President-Elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
I have also opened dialog with Liberland and hope to establish diplomatic ties with thier nation. I have personally spoken with President Vít Jedlička and offered our support as he fights for the right to reenter his own nation.
Over the last week I have been working non stop to overhaul the government and will be making some important announcements very soon.
We will begin accepting citizenship applications online again in the next week and hope to have a more interactive web presence very soon.
